This tour will take us to discover the most important castles in Trentino Alto Adige region, one of the richest lands in Italy for number of fortresses and castles. We will go back to the past while visiting the imponent palaces and walls, with a view over the beautiful landscape around, made of apple plantations and vineyards
Arrival in Val Pusteria, hotel accommodation. Meeting with the english -italian speaking tour leader and the rest of the group, dinner and overnight.
Visit to RIPA castle, on the southern hill of brunico, the main city of Val Pusteria valley. MMM Ripa (in Tibetan: ri=mountain, pa=man) is part of a six-centered encounter with the mountains. Reinhold Messner, an important Italian Alpinist, has chosen Bruneck Castle to present mountain peoples from Asia, Africa, South America and Europe. Surrounded by mountain farms and offering views of the popular Kronplatz mountain resort. Lunch at your leisure and continuation to Valle Aurina valley. The magnificent Tures Castle, one of the most beautiful and biggest of the whole Tirol, is surrounded by spectacular mountains. Tures Castle can be divided into a Romanesque part dating back to the time of the Lords of Tures and a Gothique part built by the Bishops of Bressanone .Hotel dinner and overnight.
Hotel breakfast and departure to Val di Non valley, reaching one of the most renowned sites of this valley: at 730 metres above the sea level, surronded by the forest between Coredo and Sanzeno villages, this fortress is made of five little churches stacked on top of each other, all built on a rocky outcrop joined together by a long staircase with 131 steps. Lunch at your leisure. In the afternoon, visit to the lower Val di Non valley, known for the Melinda apple cultivation, with its Thun castle. Built on high ground, Castel Thun is one of the most famous castles in Trentino. Inside, the original sixteenth-century furniture, as well as precious art collections, an important library and a rich picture gallery, have been perfectly preserved.
