Tour programme

Day 1:

DAY 1

Pick up in Milan and departure to Alta Badia with our tour assistant, with a stop for lunch.
Check-in at your hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 2:

DAY 2

11 km – 300 m + Time walking: 4.5 hours
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the first day of trekking.
From San Cassiano, take the ‘Piz Sorega’ chairlift; then, start a scenic crossing at an altitude of 2000-2100 meters to Passo Valparola. The route at high altitude develops across beautiful, open meadows and pastures with slight undulations. We are on a plateau in the heart of the Badia area, with breathtaking views of all the Dolomite groups we will visit in the following days. There are several opportunities to stop for lunch (at your leisure) along the way. At Passo Valparola (2168 m), we will return to the hotel by bus. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3:

DAY 3

9 km – elevation gain: 650 m Time walking: 6.5 hours
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Falzarego Pass (2105 m) by bus (about 30 min). Then, hike on the path to F.lla Travenanzes (2507 m) and continue to Piccolo Lagazuoi (2752 m), where you can enjoy the panoramic terrace. There is also a possible visit to the entrance of the war gallery, or a visit to the nearby summit of Lagazuoi (2778 m). After lunch (at your leisure), descend along the opposite side, passing the Lagazuoi lake and the Scotoni refuge, until reaching Capanna Alpina (1740 m). A bus ride of about 20 minutes brings us back to Villa. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4:

DAY 4

9 km – elevation gain: 800 m Time walking: 2.5 hours
Breakfast at the hotel and departure by bus to Longiarù (a well-preserved historic alpine village), then proceed to Seres and Misci (about 25 min). Seres and Misci (1568 m) are two wonderful examples of ‘viles’ Ladine, perfectly preserved. These villages illustrate how the Ladin communities in the Badia area have settled and organized life in the mountains for millennia. Hike along the Valle dei Molini, known for its many beautiful, ancient watermills that were used for grinding cereals, one of which is still operational. Continue up to Passo di Poma and then to the nearby Rifugio Genova (2297 m). Enjoy breathtaking views of the Odle group, Sass da Putia, Puez, Val di Funes, and on the opposite side, the impressive Sasso della Croce. Afternoon at your leisure to explore the alpine village. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5

11 km – elevation gain: 550 m Time walking: 6.5 hours
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Passo Gardena (2121 m) by bus (about 25 min). On the High Route No. 2, ascend beneath the southern walls of the Cir group to Baita Jimmy (2222 m). Continue through the unique, picturesque ‘Danter les Pizes’ valley, walking amid numerous towers and pyramids of Dolomite rock, remnants of ancient eroded Dolomite towers, until reaching Forcella Cir (2467 m). We are now at the head of the intimate and picturesque Val Chedul. Continue upwards to Forcella Crespeina (2527 m), where an expansive plateau opens up with the beautiful, hidden Crespeina Lake. Lunch at the refuge. Then descend to Rifugio Scoiattoli, located at the base of the striking Cinque Torri group and Monte Averau. Hike along the WWI paths, returning to Passo Falzarego, walking in front of the Tofana di Rozes (the true queen of the Dolomites of Ampezzo).
