Hotel breakfast and departure for a visit to the former Royal Palace in Caserta, designed by Luigi Vanvitelli and wanted by Charles of Bourbon III.
This palace, listed by Unesco, is considered a triumph of Italian Baroque and was designed based on Versailles and Madrid Royal Palaces, as well as Roman villas, with magnificent gardens.
Indeed, The Palace with 1200 decorated rooms, is located in the heart of a vast and splendid park, with sculptures and fountains. Free time and lunch at your leisure.
Return to Naples and meeting with our guide for a guided visit of the city centre. We will start from Spaccanapoli district, the very heart of the city, full of contradictions and the soul of the city itself. Our visit will continue to the Duomo with its Royal Chapel of the Treasure of San Gennaro, the patron of the city, via San Gregorio Armeno, the street of Neapolitan cribs, the church of New Jesus (Nuovo Gesù) and its lavish interior decorated with frescoes.
Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Hotel breakfast and departure to a full day to Capri Island. We will board the ferry heading to the spectacular island of Capri, a charming and beautiful Mediterranean Island, meeting point over the years of a bustling square which represents the center of Capri. We will enjoy the beautiful view over the “Faraglioni” coastal and oceanic rock formation eroded by waves, as well as the Augustus Gardens. Lunch at your leisure and free time. In the afternoon possible boat excursion (extra quoted).
Return to Naples, dinner and accommodation.
Hotel breakfast and departure to Salerno port, where we’ll get onboard a ferry heading to Amalfi, the most ancient of the four Maritime Republics. Recognized by UNESCO as a cultural landscape site, it’s indeed a unique place in the world for the beauty of the landscape and vegetation.
Free time for a stroll in the city centre, to admire the picturesque white houses with flower-filled balconies perched on the hills, as well as the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. Lunch at your leisure.
In the afternoon, by ferry we’ll reach Positano, an old village of sailors famous for its impressive viewpoint. Return to Naples, dinner and overnight.
Hotel breakfast and departure to Pompei. Guided visit to the archaeological site, listed by Unesco and renowned all over the world. The excavations wanted by Charles III of Bourbon, began in 1748 and started to reveal the first ruins; today, Pompei offers a unique insight of the Roman life and this city, buried under a thick carpet of ashes in 79 A.D. after the eruption of Vesuvius volcano, seemed to be a wealthy town, with luxurious buildings.
Lunch at your leisure and return to Naples; visit to the the monumental zone with Maschio Angiolino, the wide Piazza del Plebiscito, San Carlo Theatre, Corso Umberto I, the Royal Palace, a magnificent building and residence of the Viceroy of the Bourbon dynasty.
Return to the hotel, dinner.
